my little brother loves them. i think if he had a choice that's all he would do. hes playing call of duty 5 right now.Why do teenage boys love video games?

The fantasy aspect. You can't really have a simulated call of duty game in the back yard.





Encourage him to find other hobbies if he is spending too much time on them. No one ever went all state or received any award in the real world for video game achievements.

It's because they're fun, it depends on the person, in which gender and age has nothing to do with it. I mean, how can someone not like video games? I'm a girl, not even a tomboy, and I can tell you that. They're games just like any other.
I may be a girl but I love video games. There soooo exciting. It's like your in your own world. You can do anything you want. Your someone else. You are taking everything from a WHOLE different view. It's just AWESOMEEE!!

First off, video games can become very addicting. When these boys play they are mesmorized and feel as if their lives are part of the game. Second, most of these games are marketed towards this group.
Maybe because they relieve stress. And I'm 14 and I don't love video games so watch out!

I agree with KittyKate and Miss Opiniative. Because they are fun. It's very very easy to enjoy a video game so its an very simple way to enjoy yourself once you start.
its a pass time, like some would go out on their bikes,swimming etc but other prefer video games

I think it is because they are trying to escape from everyday life, i think it's because they try to forget/escape from the world around them.
Because video games are very immersive aural-visual stimuli.
because boys have tiny braiins and colorful things moving around in a box at their command is heavenly to them.
