Recommendations for teenage summer reading?

i'm not into the ';clique'; type series. at. all.

i've already ready twilight, all of them.

any recommendations are appreciated.Recommendations for teenage summer reading?
haha. i was about to say twilight. oh well. i personally like the books by Carol Matas. It begins with the book ';The Meeting of Minds'; and continues on for 3 more books. I like the whole princesses and kings and queens idea and I bet you would really like the series. I know I did =)Recommendations for teenage summer reading?
I really liked Jane Eyre.

Harry Potter series (I don't see it as clique-y, but I look more into the motivations of side characters and secret liasons. I really like the character growth than can be seen in the series)

Summer of the Monkeys (and since then I have had whiskey mash, and it is delicious)

Where the Red Fern Grows.

If you want some non-fiction, I recommend ';Lincoln's Meloncholy'; and ';The God Delusion';.
These are some really good books that I've read and thoroughly enjoyed:

-the Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud*****

-the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Coffer*

-The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen(any book by her)

-Hawksong(series) by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes(any book by her)

-The Shannara series by Terry Brooks*****

-Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

-Watership Down by Richard Adams

-Great Expectations by Charles Dickens*

-Warrior Cats series by Erin Hunter

-The Counte of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas*

-The Princess Bride by William Goldman*

-Discworld series by Terry Pratchet*****

*s are the ones I really REALLY recommend for anyone to read, and the ones with five *s are the best books I've ever read in my life!!!!
the dead %26amp; the gone.

life as we knew it.

AMAZINGG BOOK.

the dead %26amp; the gone is about a boy who lives in new york, and his parents are dead, and he has to take care of his little sisters while the world is like coming to and end because a meteor crashed into the moon and spun it out of orbit and now everything is chaos and like there is no more food and death everywhere.

yeah its really good.

the sequel to this is life as we knew it.

this time, its from the perspective of a 16 year old girl who lives in PA. she has her brother and her mom. im pretty sure her sister died and her dad died too.
