She should get her b/f something nice that he'll really like and won't ever forget. Just think about things that he likes to do, for instance you said he likes snowboarding maybe get him a video game with snowboarding in it, or if you have a lot of money take him out snowboarding a day over christmas break, but honestly if you don't have the money at least get him a christmas card or make him one that way he knows that you love him, the simplest things that you do, not having to use money at all can make the biggest impressions
Girl gets boy a sports watch. The more features the better, but the must-haves are: tells time, has stopwatch function, is water resistant to 10 (or more) meters.
