Why the heck is it that teenage guys never refer to a girl as ';beautiful'; but always ';hot';?

It's completely naive -- whenever talking about ANY girl they might find attractive, it's always, ';Hey dude, man, that chick is so hot'; or ';Gosh, when did she become so fine (or hot)';?


Come on, give me a break. Why are guys so intimidated to use the word ';beautiful';, especially on someone they might care about?Why the heck is it that teenage guys never refer to a girl as ';beautiful'; but always ';hot';?
because guys have to put up a tough image for others to see and saying beautiful expresses feelings such as love whereas hot expresses merely lust

beautiful... an xu1 torana, gren and black with dragway mags... or a Ford XY GT-HO... thats beautiful. when i see a girl of that calibre i refer to her as being beautiful. but hot is a word for those who have gotten lost in the world of japanese rice burners with big wheels and tv's. hot is the girl who is half naked on the bonnet of a skyline, a 'hot' car to most guys our age.


it depends where you come from, friends, upbringin etc. if a lad opens the door for you or gives you his seat then beautiful is his word. and a lot of it is 'old school/new school' differences.


but anyways they practically mean the same thing. to rice burner racing guys anyways.... ;-)
1. Modern American culture has made it cool for a guy to be horny and course and lame to be sentimental. Those that say ';hot'; are just afraid to seem uncool in front of their friends or have already gone into the habit.





2. Beautiful is a very strong word for guys now partly because of what I said in number one. A guy would only feel ok to say beautiful if they really love someone or if they are just trying to pick up a girl that they feel nothing for.
In my experience when a guy says ';That chick is hot!'; it is actually code for ';I want to have sex with that girl!';. That seems to be all most teenage guys think about these days. Saying a woman is beautiful isn't so much a reference to just her looks but her as a person as well.
hot is actually according to my brain, 3 letters and beautiful is 9 :P


theyre just not mature enough to. they think its cooler to say hot or sexy even though it shows no respect what so ever in a girl. guys that say hot or sexy are too busy shoving crabs up their ***.

I think boys usually uses the word HOT when referring to a girl they just want to taste or sleep with..and the word beautiful is a more decent one..I think it is more romantic than HOT..HOT sounds like the guy is a pervert..!!BEAUTIFUL are for girls they love..hehehe

I think they believe its the right way to say it or the cool thing to do... cause that's how all the other guys say it but its inconsiderate ';your Hott'; means something way different then calling a girl Beautiful or pretty and guys need to figure that out

I think it is more about hormones than being ';afraid'; of the word beautiful.
because they are to young to understand respect and romance. that's all. they just havent experienced enough.... eventually they change
Welcome to the new world, Hot is just a slang word of being beautiful, pretty etc.
We don't always refer to girls as hot just ones that are more than beautiful
Maybe they think Beautiful is old fashion.

If he calls you beautiful then it means he is really into you and not your sex appeal. That, or he's good at lying
