What is a good teenage book to read?

I am going into 8th grade and I want a really good girly/fun book to read, but it needs to be school appropriate, because when I go back to school from summer vacation, I have to do a huge project on it. I really enjoyed reading the TTYL series by Lauren Myracle, and I am hoping for a book maybe like that, but something more school-friendly...What is a good teenage book to read?

Marked is good i'm the same age as you. And i like Harry Potter. Both are way better than twilight. Ooh and a book called Mermaid Park is reallly good(:
