Other than the obvious (see above)-
The causes are usually a combination of factors, among which are peer pressure, lack of self-esteem (desire to feel lovable), general rebelliousness, selfishness and lack of quality parental relationships (perhaps too authoritative or perhaps too permissive). The parental relationships are, perhaps, the driving factor behind the other causes.
The effects are high abortion rates, low graduation rates, proliferation of low income status and the continuation of the next generation doing more of the same. Not only that, but it escalates the decline of the atomic family (mom, dad and kids). What are the cause and effects of teenage pregnancy?
The cause is sex and the effect is a babyWhat are the cause and effects of teenage pregnancy?
horny teenagers!
the horn
Cause... sex.
Effect... baby.
wow there are a lot of effects of teem pregnancy.
the cause: misinformation;immaturity;lack of birth control; lack of responsible adult guidance, love and support in life;low self esteem;social acceptance.
Effects are so numerous, the perpetuation of the cycle of teens having babies is one of the most prominent ones.
What bothers me the most is that it seems to be 'acceptable' and the 'norm' to have teens being pregnant. Look around in the local high school and sad to say the middle school. There are probably more than a few in each graduating class that are pregnant and maybe some on their second child.
I think some of these girls are looking for love and a sense of belonging and being needed and that by having a baby with someone that they are going to get what they are looking for.
