im just really good with cars. I install headlights change the oil, fix the battery. inspect the alternator..... i get laughed at by people and i just wanna know if its right. or wierd?

I think it is wonderful to start looking into cars as a teen. That is when I started working on cars to make money. I fell in love with working on cars and trucks and have made a decent living since.

I am always excited when I see a teenager interested in working on cars. We need many more of you. And think of this...this is one career that can not be sent out overseas.Is it right to be a teenage mechanic?
Definitely not weird. My brother, my boyfriend's brother, and most of my cousins have spent time working on cars. My boyfriend's brother is working his way up to a Harley Davidson mechanic. He also pimps out his own motorcycle (and breaks a few laws doing it... lol). Enjoy what you do and ignore the other people.

Hooters Girl Outfit!! They are def the hits of party. Everyone wants their picture taken with a Hooters girl. I got my costume off ebay since the actual restaurants wont sell them. Plus it will be unique because they are not sold in stores, not many people will be one. I probably wont wear the orange shorts in public, but still it will look cute with leggings. Good luck :)

It's completely naive -- whenever talking about ANY girl they might find attractive, it's always, ';Hey dude, man, that chick is so hot'; or ';Gosh, when did she become so fine (or hot)';?

Come on, give me a break. Why are guys so intimidated to use the word ';beautiful';, especially on someone they might care about?Why the heck is it that teenage guys never refer to a girl as ';beautiful'; but always ';hot';?
because guys have to put up a tough image for others to see and saying beautiful expresses feelings such as love whereas hot expresses merely lust

beautiful... an xu1 torana, gren and black with dragway mags... or a Ford XY GT-HO... thats beautiful. when i see a girl of that calibre i refer to her as being beautiful. but hot is a word for those who have gotten lost in the world of japanese rice burners with big wheels and tv's. hot is the girl who is half naked on the bonnet of a skyline, a 'hot' car to most guys our age.

it depends where you come from, friends, upbringin etc. if a lad opens the door for you or gives you his seat then beautiful is his word. and a lot of it is 'old school/new school' differences.

1. Modern American culture has made it cool for a guy to be horny and course and lame to be sentimental. Those that say ';hot'; are just afraid to seem uncool in front of their friends or have already gone into the habit.

2. Beautiful is a very strong word for guys now partly because of what I said in number one. A guy would only feel ok to say beautiful if they really love someone or if they are just trying to pick up a girl that they feel nothing for.
In my experience when a guy says ';That chick is hot!'; it is actually code for ';I want to have sex with that girl!';. That seems to be all most teenage guys think about these days. Saying a woman is beautiful isn't so much a reference to just her looks but her as a person as well.

They learn how to be a better criminal in a prison where they did not belong in the first place.

Hi,you say(now that i'm adult) I assume your a young adult,or maybe just graduated. The social group or groups you chose to hang with in school will influence your later personality,depending on what choices you made in school.

Soon enough you will find that the rebel,might not be so rebelious,you might become more responsible or less responsible,in some way you are going to change,and the influence you feel now will slowly disappear,and thats not a bad thing,you still have your memories,good or bad.

The personality you formed in high-school was for high-school,some of that may stay for life,but as your old collegues move away to start their own lives,or some even die,you will see that what ever your choices are they will influence your personality to change also.

I wonder if your personality influences the social group in the teenage years, rather than the other way around.

I stuck with the outcasts and quiet kids because they tended to be quiet, quirky, and silly. They didn't influence me so much as my personality influenced my choices of friends. I was going to be the way I am, with or without them.

Though, I was pegged as the outcast as young as kindergarten, when I was the only moron in class who thought that a pair of shoes meant two shoes, instead of the obvious right answer of a pair being one shoe. I was their favourite victim from then until we moved to a new state in 6th grade. And, I was physically and sexually abused by a babysitter when I was a toddler, causing a near-instant personality shift from bubbly and outgoing, to silent and terrified of leaving home. So, did my personality really influence my teenage friendships, or did the early abuse by babysitters and classmates influence my personality and affect my choice of social group?

Either way, I think that what happens in the early years, before age eight or so, is what influences kids' teenage social choices, and continues to influence their adult lives. I know I'm not very different in personality than I was then, because I am still the same person, just now I have kids, and a car payment.
I think people will always share similarities with their high school group, but hopefully we mature enough to be more open minded as adults. For example, I was one of those token band kids in school, and I happen to be a band teacher now. However, not all of my friends are musicians these days and I find I can have just as much in common with someone I maybe would have never considered talking to back in high school.

Privately, I'd freak out and I'd mourn their lost childhoods and worry about the difficulties ahead of them. I doubtless would wonder where I had messed up that my child hadn't either abstained or at least protected himself or herself. But I absolutely wouldn't share any of that with my child. One thing I definitely wouldn't do is let an ';I told you so'; or criticism get out of my mouth. I would FREAK OUT. Ok she isn't a teenager yet, but I was almost 20 when I got pregnant with my daughter and being a young parent has not been easy! I suppose a lot of it depends on who the father is and if they have been together a while, how far she has gotten with her education etc but I would still be worried for her because I have been there, done that and even as a 20 year old it was difficult. Yes, I do. Teenagers are not fit to be parents. Until we have adequate, extensive sexual education that teaches teenagers how to properly protect themselves during sex, they're still going to get pregnant and transfer STIs to one another. Sex is inevitable. Abstinence education does NOT work, never has. Anyone who thinks so is delusional.

A fourteen year old girl and her sixteen year old boyfriend are NOT fit to be parents. They are still children. Children should not be raising children... and the thing is, they DON'T raise them. Their parents do, if they're lucky. Or the kids get put into the foster care system when their unfit teen parent decides to go on a coke binge or leave them in their filthy diaper for 48 hours because they'd rather be out having fun and enjoying their adolescence.

We live in an overpopulated world, and life just isn't as precious as religious people would like to think it is. You say adoption is the way to go? Tell that to the THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of black kids in the U.S. foster/adoption system right now who will never have a family, and instead get passed from one abusive, neglectful home to another. It is incredibly hard for a non-white child to get adopted in this country, and it's also hard for any special needs children to get adopted because nobody wants to deal with them. The system is teeming with unwanted, abused kids who are going to grow up and get released into a world that doesn't care about them. It's sad and unnecessary.

Its a gray area with me. I myself have never done it, teenage or adultwise. But I feel that a young girl or guy should never be forced to do what they dont want to do. At the same time, if their situation for a reason on their end makes them feel that its the only way to survive in their own state of mind for whatever reason then it can be a choice for them if need be.
I think its really sad, and there is no reason for it. There are a lot of jobs out there (yes I know its hard to find them) but you have to keep looking. Go talk to a councilor or a job coach, go talk to family. There is definitely something else out there.

Other than that music and movies are always a good bet. A lot of girls in that age-range are fans of Twilight. If this is true for them, grab the movie soundtrack. It has a lot of rock music as well as instrumentals. The new Taylor Swift album is also very good.
